Neck Pain and Radiculopathy
Neck pain can have many causes and some conditions are very minor and require short – term care (such as mild sprain/strain injuries) to more serious conditions which require longer periods of care (such as herniated
disc injuries including pinched nerves). At Total Medical Physical Therapy our physical therapists will determine the exact cause and location of your neck pain and will put you on a course of physical therapy care to correct your particular condition. Our physical therapists consistently have excellent results treating neck pains including disc injuries and radiculopathy.
Common causes of neck pain include:
- Sprains & strains
- Muscle spasms
- Cervical herniated discs
- Nerve impingement syndromes (radiculopathy)
- Degenerative disc disease
As you can see neck pain can have many causes and it’s important to get evaluated by one of our neck pain specialists to see what the cause of the neck pain is. It’s never a good idea to wait as small problems can lead to bigger more serious problems down the line. Our physical therapists are expertly trained in a variety of current and up to date physical therapy techniques including manual traction (for treatment of pinched nerves); to significantly reduce or eliminate neck pain, discomfort, and radiating pains and numbness due to radiculopathy (pinched nerves). Our full time medical doctor is also available as needed for pain medication, muscle relaxants, or trigger point injections. As always our Rego Park physical therapists #1 goal is to get you out of pain as quickly as possible without the use of drugs or surgery.
